Artist/Company Bio:
Carolyn R. Holmes earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from Providence College with a major in Biology and a minor in Development of Western Civilization. After taking classes at Rhode Island School of Design and working as a research assistant at Brown University Department of Medicine, she obtained a Master of Science degree from the Medical College of Georgia in 1989. She completed an internship at the Barrow Neurological Institute and has been a certified medical illustrator since 1992. Since starting her own company in early 2002, Ms. Holmes has been involved in a wide variety of projects from didactic biomedical illustration to pharmaceutical advertising and medical product promotion as well as medical litigation support. Ms. Holmes has been a member of the A.M.I. for 14 years and has served on numerous committees for regional meetings, as the Program Chair for the 1999 Annual Meeting in Atlanta, and is the Chair of the Membership Committee.
