Graphically depicts an emergency cesarean section with placental abruption. A vertical midline incision in the motherŐs abdomen is retracted, revealing the uterus. A surgeon's gloved hand creates a transverse incision across the uterus to extract the infant. An image shows the surgeon removing the baby from the blood-filled, hemorrhaging uterus. The infant is tinted a blue-gray color, indicating cyanosis from the detached placenta and uterine hemorrhage.
