Dino Pulera`
BSc, MScBMC, Certified Medical Illustrator (CMI)

Dino pursued his undergraduate studies at the University of Toronto and received his Bachelor of Science (B.SC.) in zoology. He received his Masters of Science in Biomedical Communications MSc.BMC) from the University of Toronto in the Division of Biomedical Communications and Faculty of Medicine. He has worked for a biomedical art house as a medical and scientific illustrator and animator producing visuals, predominately for undergraduate textbook publications. He is currently working for a medical legal illustration and animation studio. Dino also operates his own freelance medical and scientific illustration studio. Dino has won several awards for his paleontological and anatomical illustrations including the John J. Lanzendorf Paleo Art Award by the Society of Vertebrate Paleontology for the best paleontological technical illustration and the Award of Excellence in Illustrated Medical Book by the Association of Medical Illustrators. His current freelance projects include illustrations of North American and Asian meat-eating dinosaurs and the second edition of his co-authored book, The Dissection of Vertebrates: A Laboratory Manual, published by Elsevier/Academic Press.

Dino is available for freelance work, and he offers his expertise with a diversity of media to express ideas in an aesthetically pleasing style to suit all your needs.

This medical exhibit depicts a C1-2 (atlas and axis) spine fractures using a series of three illustrations. The first graphic displays a posterior (back) view of the head showing the location of the injury in the neck. The next two graphics show a normal C1 and C2 vertebrae vs the same structures with fractures. Labels include a fractured odontoid process, or dens, and a fracture of C1 on the right side. May be customized by editing labels, or by combining artwork with graphics from our 15,000 image library.
